BOREHOLE DRILLING

We are technically competent to :

  • Mobilize all equipment, material and personnel anywhere in Kenya.
  • Drill holes of 150 mm Ø to a depth of 300 meters.
  • Take logs at 2000 mm intervals.
  • We supply and install steel or 100mm Ø UPVC casing both screened and plain.
  • Supply and installation of suitable filter pack material.
  • Carryout test pumping using suitable methods, take data and determine yield at DWL.
  • Supply material required for construction of the super structure.
  • Installation of appropriate pumps including capping as well as construction of concrete apron.

SHALLOW WELL DRILLING

Shallow wells are in many instances a better solution to boreholes as they are inexpensive and sustainable especially for rural communities.
Technical, financial and organizational problems in rural areas linked to boreholes have lead water experts to focus on shallow wells. The solution lies through the marriage of traditional and modern knowledge. Improvements in well design include:

- Reinforcing and lining the walls
- Covering the well
- Placing filters
- Pump installation

OTHER GREEN TECHNOLOGIES

  • Earth Dams
We have expanded our portfolio to include rolled earth dams which are cost effective and use local terrain materials without using concrete.

  • Solar Pumps
Solar water pumps are high efficiency pumps specifically designed to run from solar panels. These solar pumps are submersible bore pumps are generally used for bore pumping applications where water is pumped from depths of up to 230m below ground level. Due to their ability to lift water to great heights, these submersible pumps are also suitable for water transfer applications such as dam to storage tank, storage tank to header tank, stock watering, etc.

  • Solar Cookers
The deforestation of the land directly affects the water supply in many ways. To correct the problem of water shortage at its source we have adopted the promotion of solar cookers which can help eliminate the rampant use of charcol from trees.

CONSULTANCY AND TRAINING

Our water experts can support projects by carrying out feasibility studies, surveys, monitoring, evaluation and training of local staff. African Boreholes Initiative provides certain expertise in agriculture, soil management and irrigation. We specialize in bio-organic farming techniques and provide small farmer training.
